Q: Why did you join Women in Digital?
A: Looking to connect with other agency owners to collaborate and encourage each other.
Q: What’s your specialty? What makes you tick?
A: Running my business- love all of the crazy challenges that come with it. And speaking to other women about running their business and marketing.
Q: What was your first job out of college?
A: I didn’t finish college, I got offered a sales and marketing director job so I dropped out and took the position.
Q: What is the best career advice you’ve ever received?
A: Success lies in persistence and in learning from each and every failure. We never grow in the easy times, but we can become stronger and blossom through those times that challenge us. Over, through or around, whatever it takes, just never, ever give up.
Q: What can you give your fellow members of Women in Digital?
A: Experience and encouragement. I’ve been in business for myself since 2001 and in digital for 6 years now.
Q: What will be your first ask?
A: I’ve already asked for help in looking for a freelance designer. I’ve connected with some amazing women!
Q: What does digital mean to you?
A: Digital marketing is a new frontier that is wide open for anyone to make whatever they want of it. For me, it is an opportunity to be on the cutting edge and make a great business that can really make a difference in my customers’ lives.
Q: What do you think is the greatest challenge facing women today?
A: Unity. There is too much back biting, gossiping and drama in the workplace.
Q: What do you think we can do to overcome that challenge?
A: I believe it comes down to putting aside petty differences and grudges. We are professional, adult women, this is not high school, we don’t need to be “mean girls” anymore. Instead we can join together, bring our strengths to bear, encourage and support each other, and be a powerhouse to be reckoned with.
Q: Why do you love digital?
A: It is an exciting new frontier in marketing that is constantly evolving and changing, it’s never boring! The opportunities are huge! I love the transparency that digital has forced on the marketing industry and I love that we can be so much more effective for our clients.
