A guide to finding fellow Women in Digital members in our directory.

From finding and creating channels, to customizing notifications, there is so much that Slack has to offer that it might feel a little daunting at times. Well, I have you covered! Looking for a directory of all our members? Interested in searching someone by specialty? Want to customize your member profile? Slack allows you to do all of this, and I am going to break down exactly how.

Utilizing our Member Directory

Did you know our Slack has a built-in Member Directory? You can search and find any member at any time using just a keyword. For example, if you wanted to find a graphic designer for your next project or an SEO expert, you can find one in seconds using the directory. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open Slack and click the three dots located in the upper right-hand corner next to the search bar.

Step 2: Click Workspace Directory.

Step 3: Search members (by name, specialty, email, etc.)!!

Creating your member profile

Slack profiles are completely customizable and make it easier to work together! Use this tool to share more information about yourself and to search other members more efficiently.

Step 1: Open Slack and click the three dots located in the upper right-hand corner next to the search bar.

Step 2: Click Workspace Directory.

Step 3: Search yourself, click your name and select “Edit Profile.”

Step 4: Customize your profile to reflect any information you are willing to share! We recommend that you always keep your Asks & Gives updated.

That’s it. The Slack Member Directory is off the charts awesome and easy to use.

I hope that this was helpful and you were able to pick up a few new tricks along the way! If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on Slack or by email at caroline@womenin.digital.
